90% Better

The fever was gone by Monday and no rashes appeared...ruled out Roseola. Still no new teeth. He was eating better but still not great. He was still cranky. Tuesday I noticed a white spot on the roof of his mouth. Not a patch of white like I think thrush looks like. It was like a zit in his mouth...right where his binky hits...no wonder he won't take it. I noticed 2 smaller spots near it. I have no idea what it is...foot, hand, mouth disease maybe? I called several "ask a nurse" people and they told me to keep giving him fluids and nothing salty or citrusy. Today he is doing even better...I fed him soggy Kix for breakfast and as soon as I put a bite in he would ask for more. "Mo! Mo! Mo!" That hasn't happened for almost a week. Does he look skinnier to anybody? He was back down to 19 lbs when I took him to the Dr on Thursday and then he didn't really eat for 3 more days. What happened to my big chunky baby?!

You can see under his eyes that he has been sick. It makes me sad and hurts my heart. I can't even imagine what it must be like to watch your child be so miserable.

Foot and mouth is exactly what Ave had! From what you describe it sounds like it, Ave had them all down the throat, I bet Andrew does too, probably why he doen't want to drink/eat. It is miserable, and there isn't much you can do except let it run its course. Hopefully he is on the mend, poor Andrew. My ped said you can do equal parts children's benadryl and maalox, mix it together and use a q-tip on the sores make them feel better. I'm glad he is feeling somewhat better, I was worried about him.
